Zelko Wiener
Biography
Zelko Wiener is an artist who develops
visual forms of new media already for more than twenty years.
The individual search for orientation, amidst electronic
environments full of media, is central to his work. He lives
and works in Vienna, Austria.
With Ursula Hent-schlaeger he founded
ZEITGENOSSEN + www.zeitgenossen.com in 1999 as an
inter-national research platform in the world wide web

Theory (1986 - 2005) > Media Theory (seit
2005)
Since its foundation as Department for
Communications Theory, the Chair has - with the guest
professors Roy Ascott, Hans Ulrich Reck and Manfred Fassler -
triggered numerous discussions. While in the initial years the
possibilities of international electronic networks took
priority, discussions about art and later the social aspects of
networks changed the fundamental aim. Today, the Department,
which was renamed in 2005, can draw from a rich pool of
different approaches and make a correspondingly varied array of
educational options available.
