“The invention of a religion is
always also a manifestation of power. In contrast to the Greek
and Roman gods, the Egyptian gods were always peaceable and did
not mingle with the matters of humans. They were the creators
of the world and the world order, they established a divine
monarchy, acted as protectors. The only "war of the
gods" was the struggle between the brothers Osiris and
Seth at the beginning of the Egyptian model. Osiris lost out
but if he had not been killed and brought back to life, there
would be no resurrection after death. In a variation on the
same theme, Jesus Christ had to die to make it possible for
Christianity to have a hereafter. Our present disastrous
situation is most likely due to the fact that until this very
day, mankind has not been able to cope with these beginnings of
anthropogenesis.”
