The idea underlying the Outer Space IP came as a
result of the special nature of the year 2001 and can be
understood as a reference to the epoch-making science-fiction
movie "2001 - A Space Odyssey". We have given up
control with traditional menus through the use of the avatar Pantha and for
the first time, much attention was paid to the inclusion of
voices.

Yatoo is
an interactive and audio-visual Rollover-Love-Poem
characterised through its special form of image and voice
generation. Single image modules are tied to speech objects
based on the recording of the alternate voices of a woman and a
man, each speaking ten sentences of five words each. Every word
is allocated to a single visual object. This allows for 100
individual objects, leading to an almost endless number of
possible combinations. As long as one navigates
”correctly”, there will be clear visual patterns on
the one side and clear expressions on the other side. However,
if one fails to do so, then there will be both visual as well
as oral chaos and it does provide the opportunity to
”paint” one’s own ”voice images”.
