Outer Space IP
2001 - 2003

Documentation

The idea underlying the Outer Space IP came as a result of the special nature of the year 2001 and can be understood as a reference to the epoch-making science-fiction movie "2001 - A Space Odyssey". We have given up control with traditional menus through the use of the avatar Pantha and for the first time, much attention was paid to the inclusion of voices.

SHORTCUTS

Escape Brasil is an audio-visual animation lasting about 9 minutes, dedicated to ”researching” the Milky Way and is based on a composition by Caqueira. The song visually leads to Pluto, the planet that is furthest away from our sun. The difficulty in retaining the audience attention during such a long period prompted us to build in both an interactive and a non-interactive level. It is thus possible to change from the main level, the space ship, to either the observation level or to the level where one actively directs the trip. By the way, only the main level leads in the end to the target, i.e. the landing on Pluto
