Ursula Hentschlaeger / Zelko Wiener:
Webdramaturgie. Das audio-visuelle Gesamtereignis.
Webdramaturgy. The Audio-Visual Spectrum.
Markt+Technik: Munich 2002 (available in German only)

The book is a showcase of excellent graphics, with illustrations complementing language in much the same successful way as in Marshall McLuhan’s publications. However, in this case there is no gap at all between the world of images and the subject matter on hand (..). Hentschlaeger and Wiener are extremely good at making multi-mediality materialise on the pages of a book (albeit without sound and moving images). Their book makes it possible for us to not only enter this world but also to question the principles of artificial worlds as such and to come to grips with them interactively.

Webdramaturgy. The Integrated Audio-Visual Spectrum is compressed brain food... A book like a program with statements you would expect in a manifesto (...).

(...) A combination of art, science and new technologies. Very sucessful and inspiring in terms of language, content and design (...).

(...) The web dramaturgy developed by the authors brings content, design and programming together as a kind of staging. Comprehensive web concepts are created on that bsis. Using the example of the art project zeitgenossen.com, all design-related aspects such as navigation, color, sound, text etc. are adressed, and what is more and special about it, these are directly retranslated into a context of communication theory, philosophy and art (...).
